Pumpkin Passdown

One thing I hope to do this fall is to collect pumpkins from friends and neighbors as they finish using theirs for decorating purposes. Of course, before the whole let 'em rot on your porch thing starts happening. :)

So what will I do with all that pumpkin. I plan to roast the seeds for yummy snacks and then cook and puree the meat, which I will then can or freeze. Here are some of the things I will use the puree for/in:
  • baby food
  • pumpkin bread
  • pumpkin pie
  • pumpkin dip we enjoy with graham crackers
  • pumpkin soup (we'll at least try it)

We'll see how creative we can actually get through the winter. :)

I love pumpkin cake roll. My favorite way to eat pumpkin. I have also made pumpkin cookies and bread. Pumpkin soup is very, very good.

I have never tried to make anything out of pumpkins before, but this year I am going to try. I have a really good recipe for sweet and salty pumpkin seeds, and I also want to try my hand at homemade pumpkin bread. If you have any good recipes for pumpkin, please post them. :)

Take care.

Great ideas! This post would be a perfect one to link up to "Twice the Fun Tuesday" at my site havingfunathomeblog.blogspot.com.

Twice the Fun is a weekly mr. linky about creative recycling that will start next Tuesday (Oct 14.) It would be great to see your post there!
